Building Permit applications may be picked up at the Town Hall or can be printed from this site Building Permit Application. Building permit applications must be submitted prior to the commencement of work. Upon issuance of a permit, the applicant must contact the Code Enforcement Officer upon completion of each stage of work and for final inspection. A permit is valid for twelve months and must be renewed if work is not completed within this time. Applications for residential structures over 1500 square foot and all commercial projects require New York engineered drawings.
A Building Permit is required for:
New Construction.
Removal/Demolition of buildings.
Alterations affecting structural integrity of buildings.
Expansions, additions to buildings; garages, etc.
Pools, porches, siding, decks, oversize doors, oversize windows.
Conversions from one occupancy classification to another.
Mobil Home installations & relocations.
Installations of heating units.
New roofs if over 25% is replaced in a 12 month period.
Other use or change of building and/or property.
